Oui merci Sarah... De mon côté, pour des raisons diverses, je serais curieux de fabriquer une vertèbre. On a les préoccupations qu'on peut ... :P

Hi Mathieu, Sarah and All :)
thanks much Matthieu for translating this update for the BendyLathe which I much appreciate because this is the only data I have on how to use this node and it should be such a fun node for anyone to play with. If only played with for 5 minutes it should enrich anyone's life.
This node is mostly self explanatory but knowing about the 2 different modes it operates in is worth explaining.
I can sympathise with you about feeling demoralised from all this work and having very little feedback from it, part of this reason is because of the small number of people who create anything original for VRML/X3D. I get very little feedback from my English tutorials.
Of course most people who read tutorials remain anonymous, the seamless3d website gets 100s of views every day, much more than the number of people registered in the seamless3d forum, So I agree with Sarah.
When I use a non seamless3d tutorial, I have to admit I do not write to a forum when I would like to understand something better, like most I struggle on  , so there's food for thought
Recently I had an email from someone who used a minimum number of words saying how much they liked seamless3d but that I do not explain how to animate and colour the model he had made. It took some more emails for me to ascertain which tutorial he was using. (was the build an avatar tut which does not yet show how to actually animate) I explained to learn animation begin with the beeline animation tutorial but the reply that followed repeated the same as the last saying it does not show how to animate!
When people ask for help in general it often amazes me how people behave as if I can read minds lol but he was probably a child.

Hey Sarah did I translate correctly that you may be using seamless3d to animate something? please do not hesitate to give any feed back from any tutorials you use especially if there is something that seems difficult to understand, me and Matthieu will both so much appreciate this ;) and it is my strict policy to never make anyone feel a fool for asking stupid questions :) stupid question help those who are too shy to ask the same thing

At Christmas time I added Seamless3d to Wikipedia which contains an external link to your French translations Matthieu:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seamless3d

Unfortunaly I got a tag within hours after adding the page stating Seamless3d lacks notability !!!! It was suggested by the person who added the tag I needed references preferably something from a paper like new York times. Since I could not even find a reference to blaxxun in the New Your times I wonder how would this be possible for a program like seamless3d?
I added the best external links I could find as references such as Holger's (the programmer of blaxxun/bitmangement contact) comments, Sarah's pages and some links to Alain's school students using seamless3d.
I also tried to point out (unsuccessfully) there is no free open source software out there like seamless3d with its capabilities. People and organisations such as schools and universities who will want to model 3d will want to know about free 3d modelling software.
There is Blender but most who use Blender tell me its more difficult to learn than seamless3d which is how I feel when I use it but of course I am biased on this.
If programs like sketchup can be in wikipedia which reads like an advertisement I don't see why seamless3d should have this much trouble defending its legitiamcy.

kind regards

Wow thanks Matthieu I always new you had it in you to be able to translate the synthesizing of sounds using NURBS
I have notified the seamless3d forum of this news which has a surprising number of French visits.
I am glad to hear it's very difficult for you to feel demoralised :) but we all get down a little from time to time, sometimes I get frustrated by how much time it takes to develop seamless, making the immediate avatar demo took me 1 third of a year when it was meant to only take me 2 weeks, as intensive as I worked there was no light at the end of the tunnel week after week, but this year I feel I am ahead enough to be able to enjoy using seamless3d to make art which is good because I want seamless3d to remain a program designed by someone who uses it and its also good that seamless3d has a chance to stabilize :) There are still new ideas in the pipe line but I don't want to find my self down yet another dark tunnel :blabla: lol

Thanks for all your kind support dear friend :D

This is very much appreciated Matthieu because this also serves as the current official documentation for the NurbsLathe
Reading lightly over your translation however I am reminded that I changed the field name from "prismSides" (which does not get saved so was easy to change) to ctrlStaves to keep it uniform with the Stem node field names staves and bands. All of the recent nurbs conversion features I added for the specialised nodes (such as the SphereBuild) use ctrlStaves and ctrlBands.

I have notified the seamless3d forum of your translation.
Don't burn your self out to soon because proper tutorials will be written for these new nodes in the not to distant future I hope :)

Super !!!
I much want to make a movie this year if only a short one.
Say Matthieu why don't you put a link back to the rest of your translations on each one of your translations? This would be helpful and at the same time more traffic to your site :P
Many Thanks

Your welcome to use my Seamless3d menu code and have Image link back to your list. If you want to do this I will see if I can make a French translation for the text.

http://perso.wanadoo.fr/matthieu/page_seamless3d.htm

http://perso.wanadoo.fr/matthieu/page_seamless3d.htm

(bon anni, Thyme!)

note du 4/3/08 : les caractères étaient trop petits et difficilement lisibles, c'est corrigé

Thanks Matthieu for all your great work :)
I will have a new version ready very soon with a number of new exciting features.
I have added a pivotPoint field to the part node which perhaps makes the CenterJoint node obsolete but the new field does not cause any problems with existing tutorials, however because using the new pivotPoint is much easier to use than using the CenterJoint node I will want to make some minor changes to some of the existing tutorials but it will be a simplification more than anything else.
