"Thank the WBC" indeed, Peter!
The WBC took only 2 weeks to echo mine and GtB's "worldbuilder's choice" of your lighthouse as a prize-winner.
JAN. 16 X's choices:
1 or 2 Stigma's traditional comfortable quarters and bar-ladder climb and descent etc.
1 or 2 Rozzinkor's cute but large crisp and clean Thyme-like living space and elevator etc.
3 Peter's stormy stair ascent into a Dune-like tower on an dark ocean planet
Gaypard (who has a "thing" for English) took only 9 days to echo my description of JAN. 21. My description:
I was there yesterday, and stood upon the beautifully rusted porch, watching how the waves crossed over (at varying heights) the pentangular cement stairway from the wharf-- I do all my serious exploring in non-chat full screen. On several occasions in this contest, the same thought has crossed my mind, "This is what Virtual Reality is all about!"
But, I guess Gaypard missed that, his having just the day before (Jan. 20th) taken Roadeuse's reassuring advice that:
...les francophones survolent le texte de X, Gaypard. Et ce n'est pas à cause de leur longueur. Mais parce qu'ils savent ce qu'ils vont y trouver. Je m'en vais te nettoyer tout ça.
At long last, Roadeuse, you have published here (coincidentally in agreement again with Gaypard), your personal and I say "professional" choice.
Q. Why do I say that?
Do you recall accusing me of questioning the competence of the jurors (past or present? you never made clear) and asking what I meant by your finding some "professional" jurors? "Now you question... etc."?
A. "Who" I meant were such long-standing VRML facilitators as Phillip Hansel, Zeikerzanzeik, Paul Crispin, Thyme, Gil the B / RVDD, and Mile-Reed, who, llke you, have made it their avocation to encourage the highest possible standard in world building.
And, now. you have shown us that you don't have to be a "professional" to have "professionality"!
So, Peter, I join you in thanking the WBC.
Thank you, Roadeuse!

X
